Benefits That Make Your Care Affordable
Dental insurance benefits make your care not only more affordable, but predictable overall. Most employers offer dental insurance as part of their employee benefits, making it especially easy to receive preventive forms of care like exams and cleanings. Our dental office is happy to be friendly towards insurance plans, provide affordable dental fees, and break down your coverage in a way that you can understand. Of course, every plan is unique and dental insurance carries distinct differences from medical insurance that you should know about.
Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Dental insurance is meant to be used on a routine basis, which is significantly different than most medical insurance plans. For example, you may be more likely to use a medical insurance plan if you need to treat a serious illness or injury. Dental insurance should be used regularly, ideally every six months, to manage long-term oral health. When thinking about dental insurance in this way, you can prevent most dental emergencies, save money in the long-term, and get the most value out of your guaranteed benefits.
What Your Dental Insurance Covers
In most cases, dental insurance will cover specific types of benefits in generally the same way. While there are unique stipulations that we’re happy to help you understand during your time here, you can expect insurance to be covered in the following ways:
Preventive Care – Includes exams, cleanings, and X-rays. Typically covered close or at 100 percent by insurance.
Minor Restorative Care – Includes tooth-colored fillings and root canal therapy. Often covered between 70 and 80 percent by insurance.
Major Restorative Care – Includes dental crowns, bridges and dentures. Covered up to 50 percent in most cases.
